There’s historic fun afoot! Embark on an unforgettable journey into the heart of the Wyoming Frontier Prison! Join our knowledgeable tour guides as they lead you through this historic landmark.

This historic site is listed on The National Register of Historic Places, and offers tours to approximately 15,000 visitors annually.

Tours are available all year long. Tour schedules change according to the season.

Your tour guide will offer an authentic glimpse into the realities of prison life for both inmates and guards, including a visit to the Gas Chamber where executions were carried out.

Summer tour schedule information: 

From Memorial Day to Labor Day, we offer eight tours daily, seven days a week.

Tours run every hour on the half-hour from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM.  

The Museums and Gift Shop are open 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, seven days a week.

Yes, we are open Memorial Day, Juneteenth, 4th of July, and Labor Day!  

Tour schedule varies after Labor Day through mid-October.

Halloween closures:  We are closed to visitors mid-October to mid-November for Halloween preparation, Halloween Tours, and Halloween clean-up; check our website for details.  

Winter tour schedule information:  From mid-November until Memorial Day weekend, tours are offered at 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM Monday-Thursday.  The Museums and Gift Shop are available from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM Monday-Thursday. We are closed for lunch from noon-1:00 PM.  For the protection of our historic structures, staff, and visitors, regularly scheduled tours will be canceled if the outside temperature is 0 degrees Fahrenheit or below at tour time. During the Winter schedule, times are subject to change without notice and we will be closed for all Winter Holidays.

Adults: $12
Children (ages 6-12): $10
Seniors (ages 60+): $10

Museum exhibits are free and can be explored at your own pace.
